Where space isn’t a problem horizontal loops buried in the ground or on the bottom of a lake would be the preferred choice but where space is or the mess of digging up 300m of land is a problem, our drilling services can provide a reliable, professional but above all cost effective drilling solution.

The depth of the holes depends on the heating load for the building but are typically around 100m long. A 32mm or 40mm plastic loop (PE100) with u bend is inserted into the hole, pressure tested and the hole is then back filled with a design specified grout. On smaller scale sites the loop could then be connected straight to the exchanger or on larger multihole sites the holes can be connect via a network of pipes designed by a specialist loop supplier.
